About the Residency
This dynamic residency invites students to explore self-expression through fashion and design. Participants will create a personal character and design miniature outfits inspired by their own identities, interests, and lived experiences. Through guided, hands-on instruction, students will develop a personalized logo, experiment with diverse fabrics, and learn foundational sewing techniques. By the end of the residency, each student will complete a one-of-a-kind fashion artwork that celebrates individuality, creativity, and personal storytelling.
About Broderick Poole
Broderick Poole is a Twin Cities–based artist and educator who has been teaching multiple art forms since 2019. Through his work with schools and community organizations, he empowers students to see the arts as both a powerful form of self-expression and a meaningful career pathway. His passion for mentorship began in high school and continues to shape his teaching practice. Before becoming an art educator, Broderick worked as an independent clothing and graphic designer, bringing real-world creative industry experience into the classroom.
