I LOVE TO READ MONTH: PARENT READERS WANTED - OUR ANNUAL COSTUME READING

Dear Parents/Guardians:

FAIR Pilgrim Lane Elementary “I Love to Read Month” is excited to announce a special event that will take place in our classrooms on February 13th & 27th, 2025 at 8:15 am: our Parent Read Aloud Day!

This event is an opportunity for parents to engage directly with our students in a fun and interactive way by sharing their love of reading. We are inviting one parent per classroom to come in and read aloud to the students. We encourage parents to choose their favorite book or select one from the list provided.

We're adding an extra element of excitement to the day by inviting parents to come dressed in costume to match the theme or characters of the book they will be reading. We believe this will make the experience even more memorable and enjoyable for our students. And….we are a Performing Arts School - so you fit into our model too!

We have included a list of books or you may select your own. If you need a copy of the book you've selected from the list, please don't hesitate to contact Ms. Krisan Bothum at krisan_bothum@rdale.org, and she will be happy to assist you in obtaining one.

Parent Read Aloud Day is not only a chance for parents to connect with their child's classroom but also an opportunity for students to see the importance of reading and storytelling modeled by the adults in their lives.
