Dear Robbinsdale Area Schools families and staff,

In anticipation of inclement weather, please take time to review our winter weather closing guide. 

We are closely monitoring temperatures for next week. Per the National Weather Service, predicted wind chills will bring temperatures into the negative degree range; please have your student(s) dress appropriately for the cold weather.

When it is necessary to cancel school due to cold or snowy weather, the decision is usually made by 9:30 p.m. (the evening before).
 

For school closings due to extreme cold temperatures:

• Critical care will not be available.
• Adventure Club and Early Adventures will be open at Neill Elementary and FAIR Pilgrim Lane. For more information, please visit the Adventure Club webpage - Emergency Closings section.
• In-person supports through our Student Support Centers will be canceled.
• Students may have an e-Learning Day, regardless of learning model (distance, hybrid or in person).
   

For school closings due to snow:

• Critical care, Adventure Club and Early Adventures will be closed.
• In-person supports through our Student Support Centers will be canceled.
• School will be canceled, regardless of learning model (distance, hybrid or in person).
   

Notification: Information about school cancellations or the move to an e-Learning day will be shared with families and staff through email and text. Announcements will be posted to the District website (rdale.org), Facebook and Twitter accounts. Local news stations are also alerted, including WCCO channel 4, KSTP channel 5, KMSP channel 9, KARE channel 11 and CCX Media.
