Meet the Office Staff

This is Jen Smith’s second year serving as principal of FAIR Pilgrim Lane Elementary. Ms. Smith brings a wealth of experience and a diverse educational background to her role. Since 2017, she has served as both a Principal and Assistant Principal in Robbinsdale Area Schools. Prior to her administrative leadership, she held a variety of positions, including Behavior Specialist, Instructional Coach, Kindergarten Teacher, and Early Childhood Special Education Teacher.

With more than two decades of experience in education, Ms. Smith is recognized for creating collaborative, inclusive learning environments where students can thrive. As a proud resident of the Robbinsdale Area Schools community, she is deeply committed to supporting students, families, and staff while advancing the district’s shared vision for student success.

Ms. Smith works closely with staff to cultivate a positive school culture where every student feels respected, valued, and supported in an engaging academic environment. She believes strong partnerships with families are essential to each student’s success and is dedicated to creating learning experiences where students see themselves reflected in both the curriculum and their community. Through meaningful opportunities that serve as both “windows and mirrors,” she strives to ensure every student feels a sense of belonging while gaining a broader understanding of the world around them.

Ms. Shalinda Sherrod is honored to join the FAIR Pilgrim Lane community and looks forward to building meaningful relationships with students, partnering with families, and collaborating with staff. She looks forward to working together to make this a wonderful year of learning, growth, and connection.

With more than 20 years of experience in education, Ms. Sherrod has served as a special education teacher, special education administrator, administrative intern, and most recently, assistant principal. Throughout her career, she has remained committed to ensuring every scholar feels seen, valued, and heard while providing the support and encouragement needed to reach their full potential.

Ms. Sherrod believes that strong relationships with students, families, and staff are the foundation of a thriving school community. She is dedicated to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment at Fair Pilgrim Lane where everyone feels a sense of belonging, is respected and supported, and is empowered to learn, grow, and succeed.  Together, we can build on the strong foundation already in place and continue creating a school environment where each scholar can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

Chris Bush serves as the secretary at FAIR Pilgrim Lane Elementary School  With extensive experience in educational administration, Chris is a valuable resource for both parents and students, adeptly guiding them through the elementary school environment. Her comprehensive understanding of school operations and commitment to supporting families ensures that everyone feels welcomed and informed, contributing to a positive and nurturing atmosphere within the school community.
